The Kimberleys is the most remote part of Western australia and this is where the Beehive-like rocks know as the Bungle Bungles can be found but thats not all, from spectacular beachs to its amazing scenery. This is the real outback.

Broome Township


Broome is a unique, town that is the southern gateway to the Kimberley region. The town is a fascinating place with a mixture of cultures created by those who came in search of pearling wealth The town was set up in the 1880`s. Pearling still remains one of the town's leading industries. with Tourism growing steadily. Broome`s major beach is Cable Beach, (got its name from the cable that was laid from the UK) said to be one of the most stunning beaches in the world, it stretches 24 kilometres (15 miles) along the coast with clean white sand and offers some incredible sunsets. Broome is an excellent place to base yourself. It is the starting point for the live aboard dive cruises to the Rowley Shoals and beyond. Broome has much to offer and even has its own dinosaur prints said to be over 130 million years young.

Derby Township


Derby is known as the "Gateway to the Gorges"; Derby Town was the first town to be settled in the Kimberley and sits on the edge of King Sound with the magnificent Buccaneer Archipelago Island and the vastness of the Kimberley on its doorstep. In the 1880`s the Port of Derby was established as a landing port for the wool trade Derby is a perfect place for travellers to stop and take in the local sights and collect some information and supply's before entering the remoteness of the Kimberley's.
Derby is the main centre for the mining and pastoral industries and the regional centre for the medical services; it has one of the largest tidal shifts in the southern hemisphere.

Halls Creek...


Halls Creek is the oasis of the Kimberley region; Halls Creek sits on the edge of the Great Sandy Desert. It is also the closest town to the Purnululu National Park.

Kununurra...


Kununurra town is the Kimberley's gateway from the east. It offers access to an enormous variety of adventures in the Kimberley Region. Kununarra town was established in the 1960`s as the staging post for the Ord river Irrigation project, it's a
pleasant, modern town, with over 6,500 residents. The area is rich in history and is on land that was once part of the Ivanhoe station built by the Durack family the area is well documents in books by Dame Mary Durack worth reading.
