| Kimberley
Area |
The Kimberley
area is one of the greatest ancient art galleries in the world. One
of the first examples discovered was in the Glenelg river region.
These Wandlina paintings feature large mouth-less figures in
headdresses, mistakenly attributed to early European explorers,
latter day visitors and even space travellers! Other important
Wandjina sites include Panda-Goornnya in the Drysdale River region,
Sale and King Edward Rivers, Napier, Carr Boyd and Oscar ranges and
Kalumburu. |
