Ningaloo Reef & Coral Bay
The Ningaloo Reef (In the Ningaloo Marine Park. A Miniature version of the Great Barrier Reef, the Ningaloo Reef is actually far more accessible. In some places the reef is only a few metres from the shore. Within the reserve there are over 200 species of coral, green backed turtles and dugongs. A major highlight in June and July and October and November are the migrating Humpback Whales.

However perhaps the greatest attraction of the Ningaloo is the Whale Sharks. The Whale Shark is a gentle giant, and thus it is possible to take part in the ultimate underwater experience - swimming with the Whale Sharks. These Leviathans are 40,000kg and up to 18 meters long, yet despite their size they only feed on almost microscopic plankton and fish.

The array of diving tours is somewhat bewildering and offers and specials come and go, If you are travelling through Perth and are thinking of visiting Ningaloo, drop into the Traveller's club for a few pointers and advice.
